It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year...

Oh My God I love Christmas.
And why did no one every tell me before that nowhere does Christmas like America does Christmas? Honestly, I feel like everyone in England is Scrooge and everyone in America is Santa. Not that those two ever really hung out. As far as I know? Hmm?
I digress. America and especially New York, is AMAZING. For a city that is pretty sparkly at the best of times, there are Christmas lights EVERYWHERE (including all over my apartment, thanks Bed, Bath and Beyond), everything is red, green and tinselly and Christmas films are clogging up the TV schedules like nobody's business. Yesterday I got up, watched half an hour of Lord of the Rings, went out, had brunchw with Jenny, hit up the Bust Craftacular (and bought very cute lingerie from a foul mouthed British woman - love it) and then came home to watch the end of The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (turns out you don't need the middle one) and then TWO HARRY POTTERS. I mean, really, why would you leave the house?
Elf, Christmas with the Kranks, Jingle all the Way and Scrooged were also on yesterday. And that's just the ones I spotted. I could cry little snowflakey tears of joy.
And that's not all. Everyone is in the holiday spirit, there are dozens of Christmas parties, dance parties, club nights and drinks things going on and lots of them include egg nog. I went to my very first Americano tree trimming party at my friend Erin's place on Saturday night. It was so lovely, everyone got wasted on Candy Cane cocktails, then we dressed her ten foot tree (badly) and put reindeer antlers on her cats. They were totally into it, honestly. And well, Jenny snogged two different boys without either of them catching on. Really, she should be shot. Both cute though and there was mistletoe involved.
I just have to work out what I want from Santa this year.
Besides the Marc by Marc Jacobs Sasha Petal to the Metal hobo (in Marsh Brown please sir santa sir). Because if I don't get that, I might cry. And I've been SUCH a good girl this year...
Mood: CHRISTMAS
Currently listening to: CHRISTMAS
UPDATE:
Sorry santa, you weren't quick enough and the nice lady in Marc Jacobs said it was the last one and my credit card was burning a veritable HOLE in my pocket and I REALLY had no choice so, um, could you get me something else? Picture of said amazing bag to follow.

I got teary the first time I saw the tree at Rockefeller...a bit silly, I know, but there you go :) There's nowhere on earth I would rather be during the Christmas season. FAO Schwartz is also a SUPER fun place this time of year...no matter how old you are! You can point your camera in any direction, click it and you'll have a beautiful picture.December 7th, 2009 by Emma xxx
