A dream is a wish your heart makes...

Well, I can't say this year has been boring...
Especially the last seven days (I thought I loved Christmas. I was wrong. Jenny Lopez loves Christmas more than anyone that ever lived. If I hear her warbling 'All I Want For Christmas' in the shower once more, I'm turning on the hot water taps in the kitchen. Again.) the festive period was completely crazy here in NYC. We did leave the apartment once but only to move our sitting down extravangaza to the cinema - it's open here on Christmas Day, can you believe it? I was appalled at first but then I realised it meant I could spend two hours with Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr that I would have had to wait an extra day for in the UK so I was OK with it.
Alex, not so much. He doesn't like the competition (as if he has any).
Every day since last Friday has been spent in more or less the same way. Wake up, kick foot outside covers, realise it is still EFFING FREEZING and then go back to sleep until nature calls/stomach rumbles at which point I take the quilt (and preferably the boy) with me onto the sofa to watch endless movies and holiday-themed episodes of Every Sitcom Ever Created. It's been pretty amazing. Although I should apologise in case this is badly typed - I've eaten so muuch my fingers don't really fit the keyboard anymore, they just sort of mash it to death.
So instead of reading my rubbish, behold some the pics I took our festivus extravaganza for you to enjoy...
The first pic is Union Square in the snow - isn't it pretty?
Next up is the ridiculous snow outside Alex's apartment. I had to get through this in CONVERSE. Next purchase - Uggs.
I LOVE THESE BEARS. They're in some random public space in Midtown by a Starbucks concession and I'm obsessed.
Ahhh. This bag makes me complete. Seriously. I am whole.
Behold my turkey! Truly, I am a domestic goddess.
Yeah whatever, Jenny may have made pies. The turkey is the star!
And can you guess which one of the drinks is mine? And just to give you a clue, Alex was drinking beer and Jenny had TWO glasses of wine on the go...

Love, love, love it all.. I'm in Australia and luckily we were able to get the new book a little early.. finished it in a day.. of course I loved it but I won't say any more at this stage and spoil the fun for others. There was a comment on the last blog about how perfect it would be to turn it all into the best chick flick ever.. I have been thinking this myself from day one! It would be amazing... I have been inspired to come to NYC for a holiday in March and have noted all the places in the book and blog to visit.. first stop - Marc Jacobs for a beautiful bag of my own! .. Then to meet my Alex maybe.. Can't wait for the next installment as always! xJanuary 7th, 2010 by Mandy
