OK, so most people find out about Five Leaves one of two ways:
1. They hear/read/are told that it's the place Heath Ledger was opening with his friends when he died.
2. They hear/read/are told that the truffle fries are the most delicious thing you will ever put in your mouth for eight dollars and are worth trekking half way across the world for, let alone eight blocks up from the L train. ...more

Do you know that before I moved to New York, I'd never tried lobster? Well, thanks to the lovely people at the Essex on the Lower East Side, that is no longer one of my failings.
The restaurant is lovely, not too pretentious but definitely cool enough for you to feel like an NYC insider and most importantly, every Wednesday they have a lobster special for $16! And it's delicious. And you get to...more

You will have burned off your massive Manatus breakfast shopping up a storm on Bleecker, so treat yourself to something sweet from Magnolia Bakery.
Famous for its cupcakes (as seen on SATC no less), I actually prefer the brownies. They're fudgy, gooey and oh so delicious.
