THE POD HOTEL
May 20th, 2009 by Angela
Looking for something unique and a little bit funky? At The Pod Hotel you can stay in a single, queen, double or even bunkbed room, complete with your very own iPod dock.

Some of the rooms have shared bathrooms, which keeps the prices way down, and while that might sound a little bit more YMCA than NYC, the in-room alert lets you know whether the bathroom is free before you even set a slipper out of your bedroom. Or you could just bag a room with an en-suite shower room. Wuss.

There are also larger, bargainous rooms available for groups and families, and a cool bar for pre-dinner/post-dinner drinks.

The Pod Hotel is the most amazing place to stay...on the same street as Radio City Music Hall!

The rooms are small and cute, the lobby is very cool & stylish...and The Pod Cafe serves the most amazing vegetable cream cheese bagels :)

Located Midtown, you can get anywhere quickly...especially with the subway station only 2 mins away!

I recommend this to anyone fabulous...but on a budget...:)

Staying there when I go NY in September! Sister has stayed there before and loves it - then I saw Angela describe it as a "budget beauty" and knew we were going the right way as broke students! Lol, love the book!

My friend and I have stayed here twice and would absolutely recommed this hotel for anyone looking for a hip, trendy place to stay without breaking the bank.  We had a Bunk bed room on our first visit and although the space was compact we had enough room for our 2 huge suitcases and many many shopiing bags.  The showers and toilets are immaculate and we never had to queue.  On our second visit we opted for the queen bed with en suite and it was nice to have our own facilities and a bit more space. The flat screen tv and i-pod docking station were fab and we certainly made use of them while sipping on cocktails and getting ready for our nights out!  The location is perfect, 2 mins from Subway and plenty of food shops for breakfast or in our case, brunch!!
All in all with the Pod what you see is what you get, a great space to relax in after a day of walking, shopping or a night on the town.  When you are in NYC, it would be a crime to spend more time in the hotel room than out exploring the city!!
