New York
W UNION SQUARE
May 20th, 2009 by Angela
Ahh, Union Square. For me, this is where New York started.

It's also a great base for any holiday. The subway is right on your doorstep, taxis are always running up and down Park and you're within walking distance of a whole lot of sights. And shops. And restaurants. Sigh. A chain hotel this might be, but a W hotel is hardly a Holiday Inn. The hotel itself is a perfect example of New York's beaux arts architecture, which makes it a bit of a landmark in itself.

The rooms are packed with Bliss toiletries, giant comfy beds and with a 'Whatever, Whenever' guest policy, two bars and an award-winning restaurant, you really can’t go wrong here.

I stayed at the one on Lexington Avenue. I absolutely loved it, very laid back place and so close to everything. Plus staff are lovely and very helpful. Funny when I was reading my I Heart New York in my room, I thought it sounded familiar!!

All the W Hotels are a sure fire win in my mind. You simply can't go wrong with a "W". Highly recommended!
